Rams v. Redskins Preview – What We Want

So, the Jump to Conclusions Week is finally over and the Rams have a Week 2 test away from home against the Redskins.

Keeping it simple, what do we want to see from the Rams today?

Fight – We would love to see the Rams put up a fight against an opponent.  Make the other team work and make sure we aren’t ridiculed on Football Night in America as an embarrasment.  Too often in 2008, the Rams were run off the field.  Let’s make the Football Outsiders look smart for picking the Rams as a surprise team in 2009!

Running the Football – The Rams oriented the offense towards a power running game, but the offense in week 1 looked more like the Air Martz offense than any power running game.  The Rams need to run Steven Jackson to keep the pressure off the passing game.

Hold the Defense – The Rams defense have started fast in the past with stops, punts and turnovers.  The Rams need to continue their good play on defense to the second half.

If we as fans can see at least these three tenets, the Rams will have a good game, and we will be more happy than last week.  It won’t take much!

As always, follow my updates during the game on twitter at @Ramsgab.
