The Rams will face off against the Redskins at Fedex Field for the second of the their first two 2009 games on the road. Let’s go over a few quick keys for the Rams.
Points – You can’t win the game if you score 0 points, so the Rams focus will be getting on the board any way possible. How should they make that happen?
Run the Rock – I tire of the phrase “establish the run”, but the Rams did not get Steven Jackson or the Rams offensive line on the same page all day. The offense worked in Week 1 in fits and starts, but broke down due to mistakes. Can the Rams stick with the running game?
Mistakes – The Rams cannot beat themselves with penalties or turnovers. They will have enough trouble beating the Redskins, let alone overcoming their own mistakes as well. Richie knows he is a “marked man”, can he keep it between the whistles?
Battle of the Titans – Jason Brown is the highest paid Center in the NFL and Albert Haynesworth is the highest paid DT in the NFL. Brown has already ripped Haynesworth for his conditioning and penchance for taking plays off during the game. Can Brown hold the middle of the Rams offensive line?
Pass Rush – The Rams pass rush was non-existent against the Seahawks. Can the Rams bother Jason Campell?
Turnover Town – The Rams we able to continue their turnover streak from the preaseason into week 1. Can they grab 3+ more turnovers on Sunday?
Wide Receivers – The Rams’ wide receivers had a hard time getting open against the Seahawks defensive backfield requiring Marc Bulger to throw the ball away or take sacks. Can they get the seperation needed on Sunday?
There are a ton of questions for the Rams in Week 2. Are any of these going to be answered?
