Chris Draft Cut, Rams Youth Movement Continues

draft-water

The Rams today cut veteran linebacker Chris Draft.  The Rams front office asked him to take a $300k pay cut and when he declined, they released him.

Since Draft is a veteran, cutting him before the first game of the season prevents the Rams from being on the hook for all of his salary for the 2009 season.

David Vobora will step into the fold as the starting linebacker with Larry Grant fighting off an injury.  Mr. Irrelevant from the 2008 NFL draft got 1 start in 2008 at MLB for the Rams.  He has shown improvement in the 2009 preseason and should be able to fill in admirably.

LB Quinton Culberson who was cut on Sept. 5th is back with the Rams to take Chris Draft’s roster spot.
