First and foremost – anything that you see in the Rams 4th preseason game will not translate over to the regular season. This game is not for testing out anything for the regular season, but that does not mean there’s nothing to watch in the game!
Null v. Berlin – The epic battle for 3rd QB has reached its final stage. Both QBs will see increased playing time in this game and the results will go a long way towards who makes the Rams roster in 2009.
Adam Carriker – Can Carriker play well enough to regain his starting defensive tackle position? Or is he doomed to coming off the bench in the Rams defensive line rotation?
Backup RB – We say this every week, and every week it is the same thing. Who are the running backs going to be behind Steven Jackson? Gado may have entrenched himself in the backup spot. Can Darby and Pittman show enough to cement their place on the roster? Is Chris Ogbonnaya destined for anonymity on the practice squad?
Numbers Game – The Rams will have to go from 74 to 53 players on Saturday and maybe lower if they pick some players off of other teams practice squads.
Practice Squad – The Rams will keep 8 players on their practice squad for the season. Will some players earn spots on that squad as well? This game will allow us to put a players ability and action to those names on the practice squad.
