Tye Hill Traded
Posted by Jeff Roman on September 1st, 2009 in Roster Moves

Tye Hill traded to Atlanta for a 7th round pick. Ouch. More details to come!
UPDATE: Tye Hill had been given every chance to make the Rams starting lineup. He was passed on the depth chart by Jonathan Wade who had played better in every way in the preseason.
Hill did not fit in with the new regime’s idea of a CB. He was small, fast and not physical. The Rams are looking for big strong corners who can play in bump and run coverage.
And that’s the other reason the Rams only cut 4 players. Tye Hill was the next player leaving Rams Park to get the Rams down to 75 players.

so at least we know someone worth a 7th round pick isn’t starting at corner anymore???
He was pretty old when he was a rookie and never really impressed. Hopefully this will give Spagnuolo an opportunity to bring in a guy who will not only fit in his system, but also be an overall better player.
(On Joe Klopfenstein)
The upside from the Linehan era is he brought Randy McMichael, a fairly good tight-end so, Joe Klopfenstein was never really needed.
hopefully the Ram’s learn to draft sometime this decade.
