St. Louis Rams starting QB Marc Bulger has just returned to practice this week. He is not taking snaps but throwing passes on the side. Bulger says that if he had to play this week, he would be able to. We are 12 days away from the first regular season game, so there is plenty of time.
All of these are good signs and there is no reason to risk Bulger in the final preseason game. Let him continue to build up chemistry with his receivers in practice to get ready for the 1st game of the season. He needs to build up strength in his pinky finger, not test it in a game situation that doesn’t count. Unless you count the Governor’s Cup. Which I don’t.
The only thing that could cause problems for Bulger at this point is further injury and the Rams are being smart and brining him along slowly to be ready for the season opener.
