Running Backs Judged After 1 Game

Apparently the Rams running backs were judged very harshly after 1 preaseason game as Bill Coats of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports from Sunday’s practice:

RB Samkon Gado, who had a big game vs. the Jets, took some snaps with the No. 1 offense. Antonio Pittman, who also had a nice outing Friday, and Gado shared second-team reps. Kenneth Darby, who struggled in the preseason opener, spent most of his time with the third unit.

After 1 game, the backup running back situation has taken a serious shakeup.  Darby was looking the favorite for #2, Gado, Ogbonnaya and Gado were battling it out for the last few spots.  But, now the lineup has been turned on its head.  Gado’s on top, then Pittman and then Darby.  There is no mention of Ogbonnaya, but he must be behind all three of these guys.

Is it just me or does that seem like a huge swing based on one game?  Could it be a temporary move directly based on the results of the first game and Darby will get more work with the 1st team later in the week?  Could we see a different backup running back depth chart every week?
