Rams To Wear 10-Year Throwbacks This Season

Pro Football Weekly reports the Rams will wear some throwbacks this season:

The Rams announced today that they will be wearing throwback jerseys at two home games during the 2009 season in a 10-year-anniversary tribute to their Super Bowl XXXIV champion squad.

The traditional white, blue and yellow-gold color scheme was worn from 1973 through ’99, from the Rams’ inaugural season through the team’s ’99 Super Bowl victory. The uniforms will be highlighted in the team’s Week Five matchup against the Vikings on Oct. 11 and in its Week 15 meeting with the Texans on Dec. 20.

“The Rams are one of the most storied franchises in NFL history, and even as we look to start a new chapter in Rams’ history, this is an exciting opportunity to pay homage to our past and celebrate the 10th anniversary of our Super Bowl victory,” said Kevin Demoff, Rams executive vice president of football operations and chief operating officer. “Our fans at the Minnesota and Houston games will be part of history as they see their team in the same colors as Rams’ greats from the past.”
