Rams Gab Camp Report – Day 6

Rams Gab has dispatched its official reporter, Zachary Roman, my brother (Thanks Zach!) to Rams training camp to make some observations and today he even polled some fans.

During individual drills at the beginning of practice, Steven Jackson was working with the WRs along with Ogbonnaya and Pittman. And Jackson in 11 v 11s even lined up at WR for a play or two.

Mike Karney say out the morning practice again today.

Jerome Johnson was the number 1 fullback today, since Karney was out with an injury.

There’s much more after the jump!

Sightings:
Lucia Rodriguez took in practice from the sideline with her husband and an unknown younger female.
There were also a few officials at practice today go over the rules with the team.
And I also think I spied John Clayton at practice today too.

During 1v1s:
Burton dropped an easy catch that hit him right in the hands.
The CBs were able to hold their own against our WRs.

During 11v11s:
Laurinaitis was at MLB with the 1st team Defense today and Draft took over SLB for the day.
And the 2nd team offense was unable to get much against the the 1st team defense.
The 1st team offense did not fair much better. And even on their first play of the day against the 2nd team defense they false started.  But it wasn’t Barron who was the offending party, instead I think it was Steven Jackson.
The defense seems to be ahead of the offense still in 11v11s.
As today is unofficially Tye Hill day I am obligated to mention that Tye Hill had another nice one on one tackle today this time it was against Gado who has been getting some work at FB.

Keenan Burton makes a nice leaping catch.

During 7v7s:
Wade almost had a nice INT off Boller but the ball slipped through his hands.

As the QBs and WRs go up against the CBs and Safetys the offensive line and defensive line go up against each other and I noticed:
Jason Smith got beat on a pass rush by Adeyanju.
Carriker was able to beat Schuening really easily on the inside.
Our top pick Jason Smith got some extra work in at RT to work on his pass blocking.

Capturing the fans opinions:
As I was talking to some fans today one fan mentioned his desire for our team this year was just simply for them to battle, not necessarily a win but at least a fight. He said “If we’re going to lose we might as well have fun”. He was tired of the Rams giving in when we get to the second half or more specifically the 4th quarter. He didn’t care if we started an all out brawl on the field as long as we were fighting.
