Rams Try Out AFL Return Man

The Rams are trying out Terrence Sanders, return man for the Boise Burn this week to see if he can earn a spot on the training camp roster for the Rams.

Terrence is listed as a corner back and leads the arenafootball2 league with a 29.7 yard return average and he has 7 return touchdowns.  Which, if you have seen an arena football field, is quite impressive.

Dante Hall, the Rams return man for the past few years has averaged only 25.1 and 20.2 yards per kickoff return in the last two years repectively.

The arenafootball2 field is 50 yards long and 85 feet wide.  The NFL’s field is 100 yards long and 160 feet wide.  So, with 8 players a side jammed into that small of a space, Sanders has caught the eye of the Rams’ brass.

Sanders also leads his team with 80.5 tackles and has 7 interceptions.

UPDATE: Around the Horns has it that he and the other tryout player were not offered training camp contracts but were placed on the “ready list” for pick ups during training camp and the season.  The other try-out was ex-Mizzou WR Tommy Saunders.
