NFL Supplemental Draft Today

If a draft falls in the forest and no one hears it, does it make a sound?

In either case, the NFL Supplemental Draft is today and it is conducted by email.  Email… They can’t even fire up IM for the occasion?  Anyway, each team emails the league with the player name and the round they would like to select them in.

If anyone actually emails in any players that they want, they forfeit that round selection next year.  Last year, no one was selected. You can understand the excitement around the event.

Here are the players eligible from PFT:

Eight players are eligible this year:  [Jeremy] Jarmon, Western Kentucky linebacker Blake Boyd, Southern Mississippi receiver Torris Magee, Texas Tech defensive end Dixon McKinner McKinner Dixon, Central Michigan guard Joe McMahon, Tennessee safety Demetrice Morley, Kansas State receiver Deon Murphy, and Florida State receiver Corey Surrency.

Being that Jeremy Jarmon is the most talented and heralded player in the supplemental draft and he is eligible for the supplemental draft because he failed a drug test, I don’t expect the Rams to get involved.

UPDATE: The Redskins took Jarmon, the only player drafted, in the 3rd round.  Wow, that’s bold.
