Rams Sign 6 Players for the Offseason Roster

The Rams resigned offensive lineman Mark Setterstrom and DE Eric Moore to one-year contracts today, along with four new players, QB Jeff Otis, DB Marcus Brown, TE Eric Butler and C Tim Mattran (all four were signed to one year contracts).

At the very least, Setterstrom (if healthy) should be able to provide depth, if not a possibility at a starting guard position and with a one year contract, he might be motivated to play well and secure a long term contract. It should be an interesting offseason for him, and could possibly help the Rams solidify their Swiss cheese line.

As far as the offseason goes, the Rams started their offseason condition program today, and every single player on the team was in attendance, except for Steven Jackson, who according to Coach Spagnuolo was dealing with family matters. This is a great sign (having all the players attending), since the program is not mandatory and should provide a good bridge into the minicamps which are just 17 days away. The only player who did not actually participate in the drills (besides Jackson) was WR Derek Stanley who was still dealing with an injury.

I might add something i saw over on turfshowtimes…

According to Steven Jackson’s Twitter, he ran 5 miles in 26 minutes, so I think it’s safe to say he’s keeping in shape.

Stetterstrom is good news and Steven Jackson is a beast.
