Holt Asks For Release
Posted by Jeff Roman on March 4th, 2009 in Main
It’s a sad day in Ramsdom as Jim Thomas of Around the Horns reporting today that Torry Holt is asking for his release. He think (probably correctly) that he is not in the Rams plans.
More on this to come, but if the Rams move on this – they will move on Holt before March 17th. He is due a roster bonus on this day, so to save money on the cap this year the Rams will have to make a choice before then.

Trade him! even if its a 6th rounder, might as well get something for him as opposed to nothing.

How bad do you think the Rams wished they would have had Isaac Bruce last year. Torry Holt has been a class act here and I had hoped he would go out a Ram.

But, if the Rams are eventually going to release him before March 17th, there is no reason for them to trade when he will be available for free when he is released.
Not to mention they could sign him to a cap-friendly deal instead of his albatross.
Looks like he’s headed for a release.
