Rams Getting Busy

We are going to do this bullet style because its that type of day.

First and foremost, check out TurfShowTimes’s link dump for the first day of free agency.  It’s darn good.

So, let’s talk about a few players here.

First, Jason Brown is an up and coming center that wants to be paid like a guard.  We are hesitant to give anyone big money on the line after the struggles of Jacob Bell.  But, a stronger Center would make Bell better.  Pay the man and let’s improve the middle of our offensive line.

Second, Bart Scott.  Some reports had Scott visiting the Rams today, but it looks like he is headed to visit old defensive coordinator Rex Ryan in New York today.  He won’t leave without a strong offer from the Jets.  I would put the Rams third in this race after the Jets and Ravens.  Scott is going to give the Ravens the right to match any deal.  Bart Scott at MLB would be an incredible coop for the Rams.  I would do it if possible, whatever the price.

James Butler.  The Rams are chasing former Giant James Butler to play Strong Safety.  Coach Spags knows him well from his time in New York and should be a great fit for his defense.  Let’s sign him.

Phil Buchanon.  It will be tough to pry away CB Phil Buchanon from the Bucs and recently promoted CB coach Raheem Morris.  But, if we do, Buchanon will be a solid but unspectacular starter.  The Rams need a few of those guys.  Rumors have the Rams working on a deal with Buchanon and his agent already.

Feel free to throw any rumos (with links if possible) into the comments.  Happy New (Football) Year!
