The Rams have a new coach and they are hoping a new look for the 2009 season, and with it there is expected to be some roster turnover. Two players that may be on the way out due to their worth in the rebuild of the team are both Orlando Pace and Torry Holt. National Football Post reports that both names were talked about recently at the Senior Bowl:
At the Senior Bowl last month, one veteran scout said the word was that the Rams were floating the names of OT Orlando Pace and WR Torry Holt as available via trade for a third-round pick. League sources told the Post-Dispatch that an NFL club — believed to be Tennessee — was offering a first-round pick for Holt before the trading deadline last fall. The Rams decided against making the trade, the source said.
It would not be a surprise to see both these names floated around again as draft day gets near in April. Pace was the number one pick in the entire draft back in 1997, and did comeback after missing almost all of the 07 season with an injury. Holt had 64 catches for 796 yards and three TD’s in the 2008 season.

Matt – you are killing me running this photo with this story!
I didn’t think I’d ever want to see Holt and Pace leave, let alone be cut…. but it’s the right thing to do. we need the cap space, we need to move on….
