Rams Offseason Shopping List

Here’s the Rams shopping list for the offseason to retool their roster for 2009.

Defense:

Defensive Tackle – The Rams need a gigantic space eater for the middle of their defense.  It has become all too obvious that the Rams need someone on the defensive line to absorb a double-team and free up the linebackers and other defensive linemen.

Middle Linebacker – The Rams need a prototypical middle linebacker with the size and strength to fill any holes the opposition defensive line can create.  This will allow Will Witherspoon to use his speed and strength to rush the passer and drop into coverage at outside linebacker.

Strong Safety – The Rams need an improvement over Todd Johnson and Corey Chavous to stop the run and help the new middle linebacker.

Offense:

Center – The Rams need a center to solitify the Rams offensive line and help out Jacob Bell and whomever plays right guard in 2009.

Tackle – Orlando Pace is slowing and Alex Barron is still Alex Barron, a mediocre tackle with some false start issues.
