Who Should the Rams Keep: Offense

It is more than obvious that the Rams need to overhaul their entire squad and rather than trying to sort out which players should go, it is going to be easier to decide who to keep.  So, let’s do that for the Rams offense.  We will handle the defense later.

QB – Marc Bulger, Trent Green – Marc Bulger, when right is a top 10 QB in the NFL.  Getting him right is the major issue and should be the number 1 issue for the 2009 administration.  Would Bulger get his head right on the bench or under center?  I think he’s better off playing, but on the other hand he may only get MORE shell shocked the more he plays.  Trent is a solid backup QB for another year.

RB – Steven Jackson, Antonio Pittman, Kenneth Darby – Steven Jackson is a top 5 running back in the NFL, enough said.  Antonio Pittman is slowly growing into a quality change of pace back and Kenneth Darby provides solid depth.

WR – Donnie Avery, Keenan Burton, Derek Stanley – The Teen Squad are all coming on with their increased role in the offense.  I can’t wait to see what they can with a full offseason.

Now, you are probably thinking at the point, this dude is super lame.  (And I’m not going to dispute that)  He’s just listing off everyone on the team – this is an awful list.   Well, this is where it gets ugly.

OL – Orlando Pace(T), Jacob Bell (G), Roy Schuening (T), John Greco (G) – John Greco could get his first NFL start if Richie Incognito cannot start in Week 12, which would be interesting to see how he can do against the strong Chicago Bears front.  Schuening has been injured or inactive this whole year and I would like to see what he can do.  Jacob Bell is better than he is playing and would benefit from some solid play on either side of him.  Orland Pace will retire a Ram sooner rather than later.

The defensive keepers coming soon.
