Rams Win First Game

The Rams won their first game of the season against the NFC East leading Washington Redskins on a last second field goal by Rams kicker Josh Brown.  The Rams almost were pushed out of field goal range by a foolish personal foul penalty by offensive guard Richie Incognito.  But, to Richie’s good fortune, Brown was able to kick the field goal and win the game.  The Rams did not spoil Jim Haslett’s debut as Rams head coach.

The Rams won the game despite giving up 129 yards rushing and two touchdowns to Clinton Portis.  However, the Rams offense was unable to get into the end zone as the Rams only touchdown was scored by the defense on a 75 yard fumble return for a touchdown.

The Rams followed by pre-game key and did not get down on themselves after a quick turnover was turned into six points by Clinton Portis.  However, the Rams were able to force three fumbles by Washington and only turned off the ball once.

There will be more coverage here on the Rams first win and how they were able to do it coming up this week.
