Well, when I penned my first piece for Ramsgab, I expected to be proved wrong eventually, but I didn’t think it would be on my first day. Just hours after I wrote that Rams DT Claude Wroten is someone to watch in training camp, Profootballtalk reports that he will be doing a lot more watching. Wroten it is reported has been suspended for the season for a violation of the substance abuse policy. It is safe to say that his time as a member of the Rams is over.
So ends the short career of a guy who had the talent to be a good player, but blew it. His loss means that the Rams may go to the scrap heap to sign a guy for depth in training camp.

The Rams may need to add depth in training camp, but I don’t think the loss of Wroten was too large of one.
Everyone’s favorite up and coming player, Clifton Ryan can be the number one backup and one of our three undrafted free agents at DT can cover the depth.
I don’t know, there are a lot of veteren DTs out there that could step in and add a little more leadership to the inside of the line. One name that is still out there is Brian Young, the former Ram who headed south to the Saints. He is getting a bit older, but the organization has a thing about bringing back old players. (J Williams anyone?) Other names like Darwin Walker and Larry Tripplett may be interesting.
