More Frustration – Rams Fall to Browns 27-20

Frustrating time continue for the Rams, as things got no better Sunday in the teams latest setback, a 27-20 loss to the surprising Cleveland Browns.  The Rams had an early double-digit lead, but then the Browns offense and defense came to life as they topped the Rams for their first road win of the season.

The Browns offense continues to be one the surprises of the league, as Derek Anderson looked solid again, throwing for 248 yards and three scores.  Wide out Braylon Edwards was on the receiving end of two of those scores, and for the day the former Michigan wide out caught 8 passes for 117 yards.  “If I tie my career high, whoop-dee-doo, the big thing is we got the win,” Edwards said. “We’ve got our heads above water for the first time in a long time.”

For the Rams, it was just another frustrating day in which they fell to 0-8.  Marc Bulger had to miss part of the game with a thumb injury, and running back Steven Jackson, who scored the teams first rushing TD of the season, had to leave the game with a back injury.  St.Louis led 14-3 about halfway through the second quarter, but then watched as that lead went bye-bye to have to rally just to tie the game at 17 at the half.

Bulger was 24-for-36 for 310 yards with a score.  Jackson, in his first game in over a month, rushed for 41 yards on 8 carries, and looked good until the injury.  Overall the Rams outgained the Browns 393-368, but missed on a 4th-and- one in Browns territory in the final minutes, then a Bulger pick ended their final threat with time running out.

St.Louis gets to think a lot about this one, as they have their bye next Sunday before a game on November 11th at New Orleans.
