RB Jackson to Miss at Least One Game with Groin Injury
Posted by Matt Loede on September 25th, 2007 filed in NewsThe long Rams season is getting worse, as the team found out today that stud running
back Steven Jackson will miss at least one week if not more with a partial tear of his left groin. “He’s one of our best players, if not the best player,” Rams offensive coordinator Greg Olson said. “As we tell our players, anytime someone gets injured the rest of us have to pick up the slack. We’ll find a way to spread the ball around.”
Jackson, along with the rest of the Rams offense, has been horrible in 2007. He finally started to come out of his slump on Sunday, rushing for 115 yards on 30 carries in the teams loss to the Bucs. He had only rushed for 118 yards in the first two games. Brian Leonard will now take most of the carries for the Rams, as he was in for Jackson on Sunday, rushing for 21 yards on 4 carries. “We think he’ll be capable of taking over that role in Steven’s absence, hopefully for just a game,” Olson said.
