Bulger sits as Rams fall to 0-2

Turnovers and key penalties proved to be the difference in the Rams’ 17-16 loss to the San Francisco Forty Niners yesterday at the Edward Jones Dome.  Dante Hall muffed a punt late in the fourth quarter which led to the game-winning field goal for San Francisco.  Jeff Wilkins kicked three field goals for St. Louis, but missed the go-ahead kick in the closing minute.  Rams wide receiver Torry Holt grabbed a 12-yard pass for a touchdown in the first quarter, but fumbled the ball for a touchback in the third quarter.  The re-shuffled offensive line allowed six sacks of Marc Bulger, who also lost a fumble.  The Rams out-gained the Niners in total yards, 392-to-186, but lost for the second straight week at home.  San Francisco improved to 2-and-0, while Scott Linehan’s team takes an 0-and-2 record into Tampa this Sunday.
