Pace Done for 2007 With Rotator Cuff Tear

As if losing their opener is not bad enough, the Rams got even worse news on Monday, asPace they found out that offensive tackle Orlando Pace will miss the season with a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder.  The injury took place during the Rams 27-13 loss to Carolina on Sunday at the Edwards Jones Dome.   “I think it’s too soon to say what implications there are for his future,” coach Scott Linehan said. “I would think it’s all up to the mind-set of Orlando and how he responds to another recovery to a season-ending injury. He’s got to go through it again.”

It did not appear that Pace took a shot to the arm or anything like that, according to Pace he said he felt it just gave out.  “I feel very bad, obviously, for Orlando,” Linehan said. “He had a real unfortunate injury and we’ll have to pick up the pieces.”  Pace missed the last seven games last season when he hurt his triceps.  2005 first round draft choice Alex Barron will likley shift to left tackle to take Pace’s spot.  The amazing thing is that the Rams were better with Pace, going 5-3 last season, than without him, going 3-5.
