Could Bennett Be the Next Big Wide Out in the Rams Offense?

While the Rams are still very interested in getting a deal done with QB Marc Bulger about extending his current contract, sources say that Bulger is finding a new catching partner in St.Louis.  Drew Bennett at 6-foot-5 and 206 pounds is one of the biggest wide receivers in the league, and reports already have he and Bulger doing extra work getting set for a big 2007.  Coming over from the Titans in the offseason, Bennett will join a wide out core already solid with Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce.

Look for Rams coach Scott Linehan to use Bennett a lot this season to stretch the field.  He has six TD’s of over 40 yards or more in the last three seasons.  He also has a 14.8-yard career average.  While Holt and Bruce are still the big time threats that Bulger may look to first, Bennett may be the “X” factor the team has been looking for.
